The ABC's environment reporter Sarah Clarke looks at the latest green issues and stories affecting the planet. The April 1 episode of The Environment Quarter included a story on regenerative farmer and Soils for Life case study participant, Tim Wright, of Lana, northern NSW. Tim's grazing management practices on his property have built a highly resilient and productive landscape. His healthy soils with continuous ground cover retain water for longer and have enabled him to maintain stock levels even through periods of drought. SOILS FOR LIFE DEMONSTRATION & FIELD DAY, CLOVER ESTATE, MT GAMBIER Autumn arrived in south-east South Australia just in time for Soils for Life’s second demonstration day, which was held on David and Alison Clayfield’s Clover Estate, 15 north-east of Mount Gambier. Around 25 people came from as near as a few farms away to as far as the Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide. 26-Nov-2012 SUCCESS IN SHARING HOW TO USE SOIL FERTILITY TO MANAGE WEEDS Agronomist Bart Davidson shares how improving soil fertility can combat weed problems Soils for Life Field Day at Shannon Vale Station The first field day hosted on a Soils for Life case study property was held on 21 November 2012, in glorious spring weather, on Greg and Sally Chappell’s Shannon Vale Station, near Glen Innes, northern New South Wales. The event was planned around 80 expected registrations, but attracted more than 120 enthusiastic participants from a range of backgrounds.
